Move Over Monday : Patience

Hey there and happy Monday! As we go into the first week of this new month I wanted to reflect on patience. I have noticed that I am beginning to feel the loss of momentum for my goals now that the first month of the year is coming to an end. Its hard to move forward when you feel like you aren’t seeing any progress. The truth is it takes patience and consistency to achieve your goals. Today I will give you my tips and thoughts on how I will be moving forward with continuing to pursue my goals for the year. I hope you enjoy!

Intentions

This week I will re-focus and re-align myself so that I can continue to strive for my goals. It is not about the motivation but about consistently doing what I need to do to propel my self forward.

Tip of the Week

Review the goals you set for this year and don’t just think about them. Write them down, once you’ve done that write down what you have accomplished so far. Evaluate your progress and create a plan on how you want to move forward. Did you accomplish much? If not write down what steps need to be taken. Breaking down your goals into smaller pieces makes them easier to work towards!

Food For Thought

Why is it that once we lose moment and motivation it is so easy for us to fall back into our old habits? The goal is to work towards being better right? If we really wanted that then it wouldn’t be hard to push forward or so you would think. The truth is what we are wanting to change is already a habit so we have to work to create new habits. For me this is harder to do. Do you have a hard time creating new habits?

Good Reads

I found an article from the Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkley. It was titled Four Reasons To Cultivate Patience, this article spoke on the positives to having patience and gave some really beneficial tips. I also find confidence in the fact that it was written by an organization that uses science to teach skills that foster a thriving, resilient, and compassionate society. Below are the main points of the article.

  1. Better Mental Health
  2. Better Relationships
  3. Goal Achievement
  4. Overall Good Health

Verse of the Week

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

-Hebrews 10
